 Answers
1  How should I inform my Dentist that I would like to bank my child’s stem cells or my own?
We recommend that you first enroll on our site as a StemSave Member. If your Dentist is not already enrolled as a StemSave Dental Professional, you should ask him or her to contact StemSave by dialing toll free: 877-StemSave or by visiting our web site at: www.stemsave.com. During your enrollment process, you will be asked to provide us with information regarding your Dentist. In turn, we will contact him or her directly to introduce them to StemSave and provide education on how the simple recovery process works. Once your Dentist~s enrollment is complete, we will send him or her your personalized StemSave Recovery and Transport Kit, which will include all necessary information and instructions for the proper recovery of your dental stem cells.

2  Will my dentist require any special training for recovering my stem cells or from my child?
Yes, but the recovery process is simple, efficient and straightforward. We will train your Dentist and provide step-by-step instructions regarding the StemSave system for use when you or your child are undergoing a scheduled dental procedure (tooth extraction.) Your Dentist is not required to purchase any specialized or additional equipment, nor do they need to alter the standards of care or professional protocols already incorporated within their practice. We will provide your Dentist with everything they need - all training and materials - for the successful recovery of your stem cells.

3  How are my stem cells transported for storage?
The dentist places your recovered tooth or teeth into StemSave's patented recovery and transport kit. The kit will protect and nourish your stem cells as they are rushed UPS next day air to our lab facility.

4  What if the dental stem cells in my sample are not suitable for use?
Upon arrival at our lab facility, we will process the tooth or teeth to gain access to the cells within the pulp of the tooth. We will assess these cells for viability. If the cells are not viable we will credit your account, giving you the opportunity to preserve your stem cells at a future date. We will also notify your dentist of the results. Cells that are not viable will not be cryopreserved.

5  How are my stem cells stored?
Stem cell samples are cryogenically preserved and stored indefinitely at our FDA registered storage facility. Our certified facility specializes in the cryopreservation of many tissue types, and has a continuous 25 year history of successful medical tissue banking. Your stem cells are being stored using State-of-the-art cryopreservation technology.

6  What is cryopreservation?
Cryopreservation is the process of preserving cells or whole tissues by cooling them to sub-zero temperatures. At these freezing temperatures, biological activity is stopped, as are any cellular processes that lead to cell death. Dental stem cells can be successfully stored long-term with cryopreservation and still remain viable for use. These cells can be cryopreserved for an extended period of time, and when needed, carefully thawed to maintain their viability.

7  Can I use my “banked” stem cells now?
At the present time, stem cells are being used in many life-saving therapies and clinical trials. Your ability to use your banked stem cells immediately will be dependent upon what your needs are and whether there are any medical therapies for their utilization available now.

8  Can my stem cells be given to someone else without my permission?
No. Banked stem cells are stored for the individual’s own use (autologous) and cannot be given to anyone else.

9  How can I be assured that my or my family’s stem cells will be available in the future?
